Texas Department of Licensing & Regulatiom encourages all persons interested
in the dog or cat breeders program to review the rule proposal, which is on
TDLR's website at
http://www.license.state.tx.us/bre/bre.htm .
TDLR proposes new rules at 16
Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 91, §§91.1, 91.10, 91.20 - 91.25,
91.27-91.30, 91.40, 91.41, 91.50 - 91.62, 91.65, 91.66, 91.71 - 91.78,
91.80, 91.90 - 91.92, 91.100 - 91.113, and 91.200 - 91.202, regarding the
licensing and regulation of the Dog or Cat Breeders program. These rules are
necessary to implement House Bill 1451, 82nd Legislature, Regular Session,
2011.

The proposed amendments will be published in the January 20, 2012, issue of
the Texas Register. TDLR will accept comments on the proposal until February
20, 2012.

This will be a lengthy process with public comment taken for 30 days and
then return to the TDLR Breeders Licensing Committee and go back to the TDLR
Commission itself for finalization of the rules. TDLR can make any changes
they desire in the final version. We'll keep you informed.
